Steal my screenplay please . . .

posted Tuesday, 21 March 2006

Posted this on ghostvillage.com, and got a little feedback. I'm not sure I have the know-how (alien-wise) to write this in full, thus 'steal my screenplay please.'  I'd watch it, anyway . . .

Haven't watched many alien movies, so if this has already been done, please oh please let me know! I don't want to be a plagiarist.

Opening scene -- a council of very angry large aliens arguing with one another. No subtitles - don't know what they're saying, only that there are two sides. The argument gets more angry and somewhat violent. One alien slips out of the room . . . looking back at the others sadly.

Next scene - Hollywood movie set. Obviously an alien movie -- looks much like the opening scene, but not quite as detailed or 'realistic' and the aliens smaller than the opening scene. There's the normal folks - the actors, director, assistants, etc. Somewhat chaotic. A tall well dressed man comes in and asks to speak to the director.

Long story shortish - he ends up as a consultant to the director, making changes to the way the actors prepare for and defeat the aliens. We see him also in social occassions - oftentimes making odd choices in food, drink and activities. Not sleeping much. Being very insistant on his detailed suggestions for the movie (yes, you're probably figuring it out now, but I would make the script a lot more subtle). He also insists the opening date for the movie is the same worldwide rather than tiered openings, etc. and works a deal for bootleggers and websites to have the movie on opening day.

Scenes of various peoples watching the movie - the opening being the rumbling sounds of UFOs coming to earth and the invasion beginning -- and as that movie ends, people are saying, "Wow - I wouldn't have thought of that" or "Man, that was awesome - did you see how they killed that thing?" etc. and as they walk out of the various theaters, you hear the exact same sounds of UFOs coming to the earth. The very last scene is the mysterious consultant guy boarding a small space craft, obviously his and heading towards home (not earth).

Please let me know what you think. It needs work, but if it's a possibily good screenplay, it'd be worth the time to write it. But don't want to try to make something out of nothing.

Not that I'm an expert, but it sounds original to me. Walking out of the movie and into an invasion, pretty scary thought.
